About
Aimee Marcinko is an Arizona ceramic artist residing in Tempe, Arizona, as a college ceramic and drawing professor. She received an MFA in Ceramics from the University of Florida, an MA in Art Education from Arizona State University, and a BA in Ceramics. Aimee holds proficiency in industrial slip casting, studio management, and community arts engagement. She was the production manager for Oak and Earth Creations, using design software and 3d printers to fabricate molds for slip-cast production. Before her graduate studies and teaching career, she managed the ceramic bell production facility at Arcosanti in Arizona's high desert. Aimee’s experiences living in Arcosanti’s experimental city (Arcosanti.org) has led her to investigate the human connection with nature, lighting, and immersive environments. The conceptual framework within her work focuses on impressionable moments in the natural world during her travels.
Aimee has been recognized for numerous awards, including the University of Florida's Teaching Fellowship, a Graduate Student Teaching Award nomination, and a technical assistantship at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. She has contributed to artist talks, demonstrations, internships, and residencies at art centers around the world, including Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology, The Pottery Workshop of Jingdezhen, China, Penland School of Craft, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Anderson Ranch Art Center, and The Phoenix Art Museum. Aimee's work has been prominently featured in numerous national exhibitions. When not in the studio, Aimee tends to her urban farm or investigates nature in outdoor experiences.
